Activities Week 2026

Monday 22nd – Friday 26th June 2026
Activities Week is a week that offers a mix of trips and onsite activities, designed to give students a change of pace from their usual school day. Throughout the week, students take part in a range of experiences that promote teamwork, independence and enjoyment, both within school and beyond the classroom. Activities are planned to be inclusive and varied, providing opportunities for learning in a more informal setting while maintaining clear routines and expectations.
Trips
As part of Activities Week, a number of students will take part in organised trips that extend learning beyond the classroom. These trips are designed to complement the on-site programme, offering opportunities for students to explore new environments, participate in practical activities and develop wider skills through shared experiences.
All trips will be fully supervised by Rye College staff, who will attend and support students throughout.
Coach transport to and from Rye College is included for all trips.
Students will have the opportunity to indicate which trip(s) they are interested in via an online survey, which will be shared with families.

Allocation of Activities Week Trip Places
To ensure fair access for all students, trip places will not be allocated on a first choice or first come basis.
The allocation process will work as follows:
- Students will have the opportunity to indicate which trip(s) they are interested in via an online survey. This allows us to understand preferences but does not guarantee a place on a specific trip.
- We kindly ask that families discuss the trip options with their child/ren before completing the form. This will help ensure that the choices submitted reflect your child’s genuine interests and enthusiasm, and will support a fair allocation of places so that other students also have the opportunity to take part.
- All trip places will be randomly allocated to ensure fairness and prevent advantage based on speed of response or popularity of a particular option.
- The allocation process will be managed to ensure that opportunities are shared as equitably as possible across year groups.
Due to the number of available places, it will not be possible to allocate a trip place to every student. Where a student is not successful in the random allocation, they will remain in school and take part in the alternative Activities Week provision.
Families will be informed once the allocation process has been completed. While we cannot guarantee that students will be placed on their preferred trip—or allocated a trip place at all—we are committed to a process that is transparent, fair and equitable for everyone involved.
On-site activities
Alongside the trips programme, students will also take part in a range of onsite activities. These sessions are designed to be practical, engaging and varied, giving students the opportunity to work collaboratively, try new activities and enjoy a different style of learning within the school environment.
We regard these days as an important part of your child’s education and, therefore, expect full attendance. Families are asked to follow normal school procedures should an absence be unavoidable.
Non-Uniform Arrangements
Please note that during Activities Week, students are permitted to wear non-school uniform. Clothing should be suitable for a range of activities, and practical footwear is strongly recommended.
Early Finish – Friday 26th June
Please be aware that Friday 26th June will be a half-day, with an early finish at 12:30pm for all students.
